CogSci 197 Academic Internship Credit

Cognitive Science 197 - Academic Internship Credit

Students who are pursuing an internship that relates to their studies in the Cognitive Science Program can earn academic credit.  To earn credit, students are required to complete the application below and submit it before the deadline.  CogSci 197 is a variable unit class, units are based on the number of hours necessary to complete the work assigned.

The number of units depends upon the number of hours worked per week (both at your internship and academic work assigned by your faculty sponsor). You can earn between 1 and 3 units for your internship.
During fall and spring Semester, 3 hours per week = 1 unit. During summer, 5 hours per week = 1 unit
NOTE: If you work more than 9 hours per week in Spring or Fall or 15 in summer, the max number of units you can earn is 3.

To be eligible to enroll in Cog Sci 197, you must meet ALL the follow requirements:

1. Have completed at least 60 units

2. Have at least a 2.0 GPA overall and in upper division major courses

3. Have an internship that relates to the Cog Sci major. Internships that have no connection to cognitive science will not be approved.
