ASUC Student Advocate
This is a student-run office. Each year, we assist hundreds of students with issues regarding the University. These cases inform our advocacy for changes in University policy that prioritize and protect students’ rights and general welfare.
Center for Access to Engineering Excellence
The Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE) is committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment conducive to academic and personal success. They pride themselves as champions for diversity, equity and inclusion in all of their programs and services.
College of Letters & Science Advising
Includes important information on L&S deadlines and policies, as well as how to make an appointment with an L&S advisor.
Computer Science Mentors (CSM)
CSM is a student-run organization that provides guidance and resources in a smaller classroom environment through group tutoring sessions. Each section has 4-6 students and focuses on material from one of the courses listed above. Outside of teaching, our mentors watch movies, climb up to Soda almost everyday, hike, study together, and more!
Data Scholars
The Data Scholars Program provides spaces where students from many disciplines and backgrounds learn together, develop their data science skills, and co-create a diverse community. Students receive mentorship, support in introductory data science classes, and guidance to advance in the field through academic support, research opportunities, professional development, and community with other Scholars.
Eta Kappa Nu
Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is the national Electrical and Computer Engineering honor society. The Berkeley chapter is among the most active engineering societies at Berkeley, providing academic services to fellow undergraduates. Our two offices are located in 290 Cory and 345 Soda near the northeastern corner of the UC Berkeley campus
Institute for Cognitive and Brain Sciences
The Institute of Cognitive and Brain Sciences (ICBS) supports research exploring the study of the mind and the biological basis of behavior and mental function. Founded as the Institute for Cognitive Studies in 1984, ICBS adopted its current name in 2000 in recognition of the emergence of cognitive neuroscience as a field for the bi-directional study of mind-brain relationships.
Office for the Prevention of Harrassment & Discrimination
The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) contributes to this university commitment by overseeing campus compliance with University of California and UC Berkeley policies prohibiting protected category discrimination and harassment (including sexual harassment and violence). Our oversight of these policies encompasses responding to and resolving reports of harassment and discrimination from students, staff, faculty and visitors that are related to protected class and civil rights policies.
Ombuds Office for Students
The Ombuds Office can be your first step, your last resort, or anything in between. If you wish assistance sorting through a campus-related conflict or concern, please contact us. The Ombudsperson will listen to your concerns, serve as a sounding board, discuss your options with you, and help you get a new perspective and determine the next steps to take.
The office is strictly confidential and no one will know you have spoken with us unless you wish them to. The only exception to this confidentiality is where there appears to be imminent risk of serious harm or danger.
