The Cognitive Science program keeps its page on the Study Abroad site current with the core information needed to plan study abroad as a CogSci major.
The most important things to remember are:
- Courses from abroad programs can count as upper division electives only. All distribution group courses must be taken on campus.
- Abroad courses must transfer as upper division units to count as CogSci electives
- Many abroad programs offer a wide variety of courses that can potentially be counted as electives for the CogSci major. These include, but are not limited to: Psychology, Linguistics, Computer Science, and Philosophy. By selecting a program that tends to offer a robust selection of courses from these types of subjects, you increase your chances of finding and enrolling in electives that can be approved.
- Once you receive your final list of courses offered during the term you expect to be abroad, submit the courses you'd like to count as electives through our online elective petition form.
